What is invisible orthodontics?

Invisible orthodontics uses a series of clear, removable plastic aligners — custom-made using 3D technology — to gradually move teeth into their ideal position. Each aligner is worn for seven to fourteen days, then swapped for the next in the series until treatment is complete.

At MG Ortodoncia Invisible we work with Invisalign, the most clinically supported aligner system in the world. Dr. Maritza Granados holds the Top Invisalign Doctor distinction, awarded to orthodontists with the highest volume and complexity of treated cases.

How does treatment work?

1. Initial consultation: We evaluate your bite, take a digital scan of your teeth, and discuss your goals. No messy impressions.
2. ClinCheck simulation: Using Invisalign's software, we generate a 3D projection of how your teeth will move week by week. You see the final result before treatment begins.
3. Aligner fabrication: Invisalign manufactures your personalized series of aligners in the US and ships them to our clinic within a few weeks.
4. Daily wear: You wear the aligners a minimum of 20–22 hours per day, removing them only to eat, drink (except water), and brush. You advance to the next aligner on schedule.
5. Progress check-ins: We see you every six to ten weeks to monitor progress and hand over the next sets of aligners.
6. Retention: Once treatment ends, you wear nighttime retainers to maintain your results long term.

Advantages over traditional braces

Braces are effective, but aligners offer clear advantages for many patients:

• Nearly invisible — very few people will notice you are in treatment.
• Removable — eat whatever you like and maintain your normal oral hygiene without restrictions.
• No irritation — the smooth plastic surface is more comfortable than metal brackets and wires.
• Fewer visits — appointments are shorter and further apart than with fixed braces.
• Predictable — the ClinCheck simulation shows you the final outcome from day one.

Who is Invisalign for?

Invisalign treats a wide range of cases: mild to severe crowding, diastemas (gaps between teeth), open bite, crossbite, and overbite. It is suitable for adults and teens, and there is Invisalign First, designed specifically for children in the mixed-dentition stage.

Very complex cases — such as significant skeletal discrepancies — may require orthognathic surgery or braces, something we will assess honestly during your initial consultation.

How long does treatment take?

Duration depends on case complexity. Mild treatments can be completed in six to twelve months; more complex cases take between eighteen months and two years. The biggest factor influencing timeline is compliance: wearing your aligners the required hours each day makes the biggest difference.
