General Dentistry

Healthy teeth first. A great orthodontic outcome starts with a mouth that is in good shape.

Comprehensive dental exams

A complete exam is more than a quick look around. We assess the health of your teeth, gums, and bite; check for signs of decay, fractures, and early periodontal disease; and review X-rays to catch issues that are not visible to the naked eye. If you are starting orthodontic treatment, this exam is often the first step.

Composite fillings

When a tooth has a cavity or a small fracture, a composite (tooth-colored) filling restores it to full function. Unlike old amalgam fillings, composite bonds directly to the tooth, requires removing less healthy structure, and blends naturally with your enamel. Most fillings are completed in a single appointment.

Preventive care

Prevention is always less costly — in time, money, and discomfort — than treatment. Our preventive services include:

  • Dental sealants to protect back teeth from decay
  • Fluoride treatments to strengthen enamel
  • Personalized oral hygiene instruction
  • Diet counseling for patients with high cavity risk

General dentistry during orthodontic treatment

If you are wearing braces or aligners, keeping up with general dental care is especially important. Orthodontic appliances create extra areas where plaque accumulates, increasing the risk of cavities and gum inflammation. We coordinate your general care with your orthodontic treatment so both move forward together.

When to come in

We recommend a check-up every six months for most patients. Do not wait until something hurts — dental problems caught early are almost always simpler and less expensive to treat. If you notice sensitivity, a rough edge, or something that just feels off, call us.
